Spring in New England is pure magic — soft blooms, fresh greens, warm light, and that feeling of everything waking up again. It’s one of my favorite seasons for photos, especially here in Andover and throughout the North Shore. If you’re dreaming of a spring session filled with color, warmth, and natural beauty, here are some of the locations I love most.

These spots offer a mix of blossoms, open fields, charming architecture, and peaceful landscapes — perfect for families, maternity sessions, and anyone who wants that airy, timeless spring look.

Ward Reservation — Andover, MA

Ward Reservation is one of my go‑to spots year‑round, but spring brings a special kind of softness. The fields turn green again, the trees start to bud, and the light feels warm and gentle.

Why I love it:

  • Wide open fields perfect for movement and candid moments
  • Soft, natural tones that photograph beautifully
  • Peaceful, quiet atmosphere
  • Gorgeous sunset views on Holt Hill

It’s ideal for families who want a relaxed, nature‑filled session close to home.

Tip Top Tulips — Ipswich, MA

If you want a session that feels straight out of a storybook, Tip Top Tulips is a dream. Rows and rows of vibrant tulips stretch across the fields, creating a colorful, joyful backdrop that feels both playful and magical.

Why I love it:

  • Endless color
  • Beautiful symmetry in the rows
  • Perfect for families with young kids who love to explore
  • A truly unique New England spring experience

This location books up quickly during bloom season, so planning ahead is key.

Cider Hill Farm — Amesbury, MA

Cider Hill Farm is charming in every season, but spring brings blooming trees, fresh blossoms, and that cozy farm feel families love. It’s a wonderful mix of rustic and romantic.

Why I love it:

  • Blossoming fruit trees
  • Wooden fences, barns, and open fields
  • A warm, welcoming atmosphere
  • Great for families who want a mix of candid and lightly posed images

Plus, you can grab cider donuts after your session — always a win.

Stevens‑Coolidge House & Gardens — North Andover

Stevens‑Coolidge is a springtime dream. The gardens come alive with tulips, daffodils, and flowering trees, and the historic estate adds a timeless, elegant touch.

Why I love it:

  • Stunning spring blooms
  • Beautiful pathways and garden structures
  • A classic New England estate backdrop
  • Perfect for families, maternity sessions, and branding portraits

It’s one of the most photogenic spots on the North Shore, especially in April and May.

Boston Public Garden — Boston, MA

The Public Garden in spring is just atonishing! Cherry blossoms, tulips, willow trees, and the iconic footbridge all come together to create one of the most beautiful and recognizable backdrops in New England. It’s vibrant, romantic, and full of life.

Why I love it:

Stunning cherry blossoms and spring blooms

The iconic bridge and pond for classic Boston charm

Beautiful pathways and soft, filtered light

Perfect for families, maternity sessions, and couples

It’s a busier location, but with the right timing (usually early morning or weekday evenings), it feels peaceful and dreamy.
